    Sarawak, also know as the Land of the Hornbills is Malaysia’s largest state. A state populated by a host of different indigenous tribes, was once upon a time know as the land of head-hunters. Now, Sarawak is a state bustling with activities based on unique cultures of all the various tribes. Definitely is a place to look forward for those who seek an insight of the native way of life.

    Upon arrive Kuching Airport, meet & greet by our representative and transfer to hotel.

    Morning, we will proceed to Kuching City Tour.
    The perfect introduction to Sarawak’s historic capital, this tour includes Kuching’s Chinatown, the Cat Statue (Kuching means “Cat” in Malay), the colourful Tua Pek Kong Chinese Temple, the Civic Centre Viewing Platform and the world famous Sarawak Museum. Across river, visit the unique Cat Museum. Return via the golden-domed City Mosque and through Old Kuching, passing colorful Central Markets with spice dealers and textile shops. Pass by the heritage buildings of the White Rajah era, the Pavilion, the Square Tower, the Court House, the Charles Brooke Monument and the Post Office.
    After tour, transfer back to hotel OR discover Kuching City by your own.

    Optional Tour: Santubong Wildlife Cruise
    Pick up at 1615hrs from your hotel. This tour takes you around the rivers of the Santubong Peninsular, offering you the chance of seeing some of Sarawak’s fascinating wildlife. The cruise starts at the Sarawak Boat Club. From there your boat cruises to the mouth of the Santubong River, where Irrawaddy dolphins are often spotted. Your boat then roams the mangrove-lined rivers looking for wildlife. As the light starts to fade we go in search of the rare proboscis monkey. Small groups are often seen in the treetops at the water edge, settling down for the night. As dusk arrives we search for fireflies and crocodiles. Crocodiles are often seen on the mud banks and brightly shining crocodile eyes can be spotted when a torch light is passed over the river. After searching for crocodiles your boat proceeds further up river where fireflies gather at night. Watch the fireflies move around the branches of the mangroves, momentarily lighting up the night sky. After enjoying a firefly light show you return to the boat club (Tour rates: Upon request).

    Notes: Please note that wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed. However, we do enjoy a high success rate. Wildlife commonly seen on this tour includes proboscis monkeys, estuarine crocodiles, macaque monkeys, fireflies, monitor lizards, silver-leaf monkeys. Irrawaddy dolphins and a range of bird life like White Belly Eagle, White Eagret, Seagull, Kingfisher and others. Cruises do not operate during rainy weather.

    Check-out from the hotel and proceed with a 225 km car / coach journey takes you through lush green countryside dotted with paddy fields, pepper gardens and rubber plantations, and flanked by rugged jungle-clad mountains. Along the way, stop off at the Serian farmer’s market, visit a pepper garden and view carnivorous pitcher plants. Stop for lunch at a roadside bazaar deep in Iban country.
    Arrive at Lemanak Jetty mid-afternoon for a longboat ride up the Lemanak River, passing through typical Borneo countryside with an ancient longhouse tucked behind almost every bend in the river.

    Arrive at Serubah Longhouse and visit the “entire village under one roof.” Dinner, featuring delicious fresh jungle produce, is served in the simple guest-house. After dinner, return to the longhouse for an evening’s entertainment, including traditional dancing, music, games and a glass or two of tuak (rice wine) with the longhouse chief. The Iban are a fun-loving people, and visitors are expected to join in!

    After breakfast, enjoy a blowpipe demonstration and try shooting one yourself. Then take a short walk through the forest accompanied by traditionally-clad Iban trackers, and learn about the traditional uses of rainforest plants in Iban culture. The walk ends at the river bank, where you embark in a longboat for a journey upriver to a tree-lined jungle pool. Lunch is cooked at the riverside in traditional Iban style – all ingredients are steamed in freshly-cut bamboo tubes over an open fire.
    After lunch, bathe in the pool or relax at the waterside. The return journey is done in traditional style to the sounds of the rainforest – boats are propelled with poles instead of outboard motor. Return downriver for transfer to Batang Ai Jetty.
    After 30 minutes boat river across the 24 sq km Batang Ai Hydro Lake,
    arrive at the luxurious Batang Ai Longhouse Resort. Check-in resort, rest & relax.

    A short nature walk with the resort’s resident naturalist. Check-out from the resort and we will depart to Kuching via the same route. Lunch is serve en-route. Then, continue journey to Kuching Airport for flight to Kota Kinabalu.

    Sabah is blessed with wonderful rainforests that contain some of the world’s rarest species, as well as beautiful coasts with sun-drenched beaches and islands with some of the best dive spots in the world and of course, last but not least, the amazing array of seafood, reputedly the best in the region.
    Upon arrive Kota Kinabalu Airport, meet & greet by our representative and transfer to hotel.

    Today, we will depart to Fullday Kinabablu Park & Poring Hot Spring Tour.

    This tour brings you across mountainous Crocker Range with panoramic view of the countryside and soaring hills. Whilst en-route to Kinabalu Park, you can catch the magnificent sight of Mount Kinabalu, South East Asia highest peak. The Park is a World Heritage Site with incredible mega bio-diversity of flora and fauna, a heaven for nature enthusiasts. On arrival, enjoy a guided nature trek along one of the many trails in the park before proceeding to Poring Hot Springs which offers visitors the opportunity for an invigorating dip into its hot sulphur springs. For a closer look at nature, take the 41meter high canopy walk which offers a spectacular view of the Borneo Rainforest flora and fauna. Lunch is included. After tour, transfer back to hotel rest & relax.

    Check-out from the hotel and depart to Kota Kinabalu Airport for the early morning flight to Sandakan.

    Upon arrival at Sandakan Airport you will be meet and transfer to the jetty. At 0930hrs, Boat departs to Selingan Turtle Island. It takes about an hour to reach Selingan Island which lies 40km north of Sandakan in the Sulu Sea off Sabah’s East Coast. Selingan Island is the main nesting area for the green turtles.
    A day of relaxation for you to swim or take snorkel at the island. After dinner prepare to wait for the Park Ranger to inform us of the sighting of a turtle laying eggs. witness the collecting of eggs from the nesting site, planting them in the hatchery and see baby turtles scrambling to the open sea upon released on the shore.

    After breakfast. Depart at 0700hrs and return to Sandakan. Proceed to Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre situated in the Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve.
    Learn about the rehabilitation of young or strayed orang utans before taking a boardwalk through the lowland rainforest to the viewing platform. Witness the feeding of orphaned orang utans at 1000hrs. Then continue with about 2 ½ hrs drive through rustic countryside studded with villages until we reach Sukau, Kinabatangan River. Take a short boat transfer to Lodge. Time for orientation and check-in. Late afternoon river cruise to see the proboscis monkeys & other wildlife along the river bank.

    DAY 09: SUKAU
    After breakfast, jungle walks along the trail to the Ox-bow Lake for bird watching. After lunch, free & relax.
    Take another river cruise up in the late afternoon to see more wildlife along the Sukau Kinabatangan River bank.

    We depart early morning and visit the Gomantong Cave, famed for its edible birds’ nests. Take about 15 minutes boardwalk to the opening of Semut Hitam cavern and explore the cave system on boardwalk. Return to Sandakan for lunch.
    Afternoon proceed to Sandakan City Tour, visit water village, central market, Buddhist temple. After tour, transfer to Sandakan Airport for flight to Kota Kinabalu.
